The Associate of Applied Science degree prepares the student for entry into an occupation or closely related cluster of occupations. A student may receive credit for military experience, military schools and civilian education. Credits are awarded based on the American Council on Education (ACE) Guide. The degree requires a total of 64 credits; the core courses are sequenced and must be completed with Barton Community College.
The 1-year Certificate Program offers a shorter program to students looking to get into the career field of Hazardous Materials Management. Successful completion of the Certificate program requires a minimum of 34 credit hours.
Academic advisors generally work by appointment, however, they do accept walk-ins. New students seeking a preliminary degree plan to be written should bring to the appointment/walk-in the following information: copies of transcripts from prior colleges/universities, CLEP/DSST, AARTS, ERB, or DD-214 and certificates of all employer based training they want to be evaluated for credit.
Evening college that consists of both Hybrid and Non-Hybrid classes are for both civilian and military students. The Hybrid courses meet once a week for 8 weeks. Each class period is 3 hours long and then the rest of the work is completed online for that week. Non-Hybrid classes meet for 3 hours, 2 days a week for 8 weeks.
